Narendra Modi

Hon'ble Prime Minister of India

India is known for its rich heritage and a culture that dates back to thousands of years. We have always been a welcoming country to visitors and believed in “Athithi devo Bhava”. We have now come to that point in history where we have decided to correct our actions. Let’s all think beyond the cleanliness of our homes and act in favor of our community, our city and our country.

Following the footsteps of ‘The father of our Nation, Mahatma Gandhi’, the “Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan” is gaining momentum under the current government of our Prime Minister Sree Narendra Modi. It is a plan that brings together the public and government working hand in hand and developing a cleaner India. This visionary act needs promotion and participation from all sections of the society. According to a UN report released this year, India continues to have the largest number of people in the world defecating in the open space. This has to change and every Indian has a right to a healthy and hygienic environment.

“Be the change you wish to see”, one of the most well-known sayings of Mahatma Gandhi is the epitome of this mission. We, the citizens take responsibility into our hands and do whatever it takes. Everyone has a role to play and every step brings us closer to this dream.

The Honorable Prime Minister of India asked, “We reached mars. No PM or minister went. It was people who did it, our scientists who did it. So, can’t we create a clean India?”. A change in the mindset of the country is the need of the hour. It’s not just the government that is answerable for the present state of affairs; we have an equal hand in the damage done. Together we attained freedom, and now together we will eliminate the dirt than has seeped deep into our motherland.

Swachh Bharat will be a result of 1.2 billion people’s joint effort and this mission begins with your step in pledging for the cleanliness of India.
